Eric Jones is a freelance photographer and graphic designer based in Portland, OR. He has particular interests in Chinese culture, environmental sustainability, community development and outdoor recreation, but is of course open to all types of assignments anywhere you will send him.
He attended Ohio University dual majoring in Visual Communication and International Studies. Upon graduation he moved to Linfen, China to teach English at Shanxi Normal University (山西师范大学，山西, 临汾). Recognized as one of the most polluted cities on earth and on the perimeter of China's economic expansion, he used the opportunity to compose a photographic essay about life in this region. In the Spring of 2013 he embarked on a thru hike of the Appalachian Trail and a new project about the emotion and experience of being a thruhiker. He has lived in Philadelphia, Washington, D.C. and Houston where he worked for several non-profits, while also filling gaps working in bicycle or outdoor shops.
